What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job was a real estate agent for Property Consultants Realty.

Where did you grow up? Lima, Ohio.

What is your favorite free-time activity? Coaching youth baseball, basketball and football, and gardening and remodeling or building homes.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Gardening or cooking.

If you weren’t a Realtor, what would you be? I would look for employment in various fields of the sporting industry.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be? Mick Jagger.

What is your favorite place to hang out? The beach or my home.

What do you love most about the industry? The challenge.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I will do anything to make my client happy and have a successful closing.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Being more professional, being myself and being positive everyday.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere: my kids’ sporting events, neighborhood events, my wife’s hair salon…you name it, I try to get out there.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Selling $10 to $12 million a year, stopping to build homes for four or five years, and then putting my residential brokerage business back together over the last year.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Grown Ups.

What is your favorite restaurant? Wholly Frijoles.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago? I love all of Chicago architecture, it’s hard to choose.

What kind of car do you drive? BMW 745i.

Smartphone or paper? I used to be a big paper guy, but moved quickly into the tech world in the past year or two.

What is your favorite city after Chicago? Carmel, Calif.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work as hard as you can and don’t give up.
