Michael Scavo first fell in love with real estate 11 years ago as a freshman at DePaul University. He entered the industry at age 18 as a leasing agent, quickly becoming a broker at age 21 and launching his own brokerage as a managing broker two years later. Today, he leads the Michael Scavo Group at Compass, specializing in luxury rentals and sales in Chicago.
“Managing a team as large as mine while providing my clients with top-tier service requires a deep passion for this industry,” Scavo explains. “That’s ultimately what sets me apart from other agents.”
Scavo’s passion and innovative marketing approach help him stand out in the industry. He was one of the first real estate agents in Chicago to leverage TikTok and Instagram Reels to showcase properties and services. His early adoption of social media paid off, as he amassed more than 300,000 followers and over 100 million views across all platforms. Today, the majority of his clients come from social media.
Scavo’s Gen Z team follows his lead. “To be on my team means to be on social media, so all of my agents are just as active across TikTok and Instagram as I am,” he shares.
Many clients return to Scavo year after year, trusting his expertise as their lifestyles and preferences evolve from renting an apartment to owning a home. “Many of my past clients are getting married and starting to grow their families, and I’m helping a lot of them buy their first homes,” he adds.
For Scavo, growing alongside his clients is one of the most fulfilling aspects of his career. “One of my favorite things about real estate is being a part of my clients’ life milestones,” he says.
