Beginning their real estate careers at the same brokerage nearly 15 years ago, Shay Hata and David Zwarycz quickly recognized each other’s talent and work ethic, and they occasionally collaborated. It wasn’t until the challenges of the COVID era that they formalized their partnership, later welcoming Lauren Calderone as the third member of the Buy Sell Love Chicago Team.
Zwarycz studied economics at the University of Chicago, while Hata earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and later pursued advanced negotiation studies at Harvard. Both believe their educational backgrounds, analytical skills and shared dedication to exceptional service provided the ideal foundation for a successful partnership.
“We saw a lot of team structures where a senior agent generated the business, but a junior agent handled most of the day-to-day work,” says Hata. “That doesn’t always provide the best experience for the client. We knew we wanted to build something different.”
Together, they developed a model in which every client benefits from the expertise of two senior brokers. Hata, a mom who often works from her home office, focuses heavily on strategy and negotiation, while Zwarycz frequently takes the lead in the field with in person client work. “This approach has made us more efficient and more effective,” said Zwarycz.
Over the past 15 years, the Buy Sell Love Chicago Team has helped hundreds of clients navigate some of life’s most important transitions. While sales volume is one measure of success, both believe their greatest accomplishment is the lasting relationships they’ve built and the families they have been privileged to serve.
Hata enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay, their son and stepson, and has recently discovered a passion for camping. Zwarycz is an avid traveler and marathon runner who has visited 62 countries and continues to seek out new adventures around the world.
