Eva Pawlus, Senior Mortgage Consultant

Wintrust Mortgage, NMLS # 231666

With a background in finance and a passion for advocacy, Eva Pawlus brings a unique blend of precision and persistence to her lending practice. Originally aspiring to become a lawyer, she leaned into her strengths in math thanks to her mother, a former math teacher. Such skills helped her carve a path in mortgage lending. “I present arguments to underwriters on behalf of my clients instead of juries,” she shares. That approach has led to 21 years of success, including consistent recognition as a top producer in every company she’s joined.

Pawlus began her journey as a processor and closed her first loan at just 24 — her own condominium. That experience sparked her commitment to helping others navigate homeownership. Today, she originates loans nationwide and specializes in conventional, jumbo, non-warrantable condominiums, doctor loans and debt service coverage ratio loans. Known for tackling complex transactions with skill and care, she proudly maintains a 100% pull-through rate for full applications. “If I take the loan, I close it unless the client’s circumstances change,” she explains.

Her clients, many of whom are referrals, describe her as fiercely loyal, knowledgeable and dedicated. Pawlus runs her business with the help of one assistant and treats every client like family. She thrives on complicated deals and always seeks the best possible outcomes. “I love what I do, and it shows,” she says.

Outside of work, Pawlus is a lifelong ballroom dancer and music lover who volunteers with pet shelters and rescue organizations. A lifelong vegetarian, she has never eaten a hamburger. She enjoys traveling and long walks with her dog, George. After overcoming recent health challenges, she focuses on maintaining a balanced lifestyle. As she puts it, “I’m not just in this to close deals. I’m here to be part of something meaningful in people’s lives.”
