There was a time when Gia Devenyi was juggling three roles at once — coaching tennis, processing loans and working in real estate whenever she could. “I had both jobs to pay the bills while holding my real estate license,” she says of that stretch of 2007. “I was doing the best I could.” That mix of hustle and resilience wasn’t glamorous, but it laid the groundwork for everything she’s built since.
Devenyi was first introduced to real estate by her father, who owned several investment properties and encouraged her to earn her license so she could handle the transactions. She was 21 at the time and still finding her career direction. “I wasn’t totally driven yet,” she remembers, “but by the time I moved to the city in 2013, I knew I wanted to go all in.”
Before transitioning to real estate full-time in 2015, Devenyi spent six years in lending, working as a loan processor, a conditions specialist and a junior underwriter at GMAC. That foundation now enables her to guide clients through complicated loan situations in a way that makes sense and puts clients at ease.
Today, Devenyi’s business centers on investment properties throughout Chicago. She leads the Gia Chicago Team, which focuses on everything from marketing to operations. Since the birth of her team in January 2020, she’s sold over $85 million in real estate. She recently decided to move to a new brokerage after spending 11 years with her previous firm.
Devenyi enjoys Pilates, yoga and long walks on the North Branch Trail as part of her routine. She still plays tennis, and she and her husband, both former musicians, make time to catch live shows when they can. Their two dogs, Milo and Mila, tag along for the city adventures.
