Before entering real estate 22 years ago, Cathy Bier spent a decade as a corporate banker. This background, combined with an MBA from DePaul University and an affinity for real estate, negotiation and investing, turned out to be the right mix for a successful career as a Realtor: Bier has been the number one broker in the La Grange area for the last 14 years.
Described as accessible, dedicated, focused and caring, she has worked with all types of residential buyers and sellers. “Many of my clients are repeat clients who I have helped through their various life stages,” she shares. The La Grange area market is her focus and is special to her; she’s lived there for more than 20 years, and it’s where she raised her family.
Having a strong, experienced team behind her means Bier is free to focus on client needs. “I lead a small team of dedicated, highly motivated individuals, most of whom have worked with me over 10 years,” Bier says. “Each brings specific talents and value to our group. We all share the same hard-work ethic.”
Even though Bier handles many transactions at the same time, clients often feel like their transaction is her sole focus. “Every client has specific goals they’re trying to accomplish,” she says. “I take the time to get to know my clients, listen to their wants and needs, and treat them the way I would want to be treated.” Her calm demeanor, professionalism and guidance has led clients to describe her as part Realtor and part therapist, a title she gladly accepts. “It makes sense,” she continues, “because we’re involved in such a huge financial and personal decision. I’m humbled to be part of that and take it very seriously.”
Active in her community, Bier is a board member of the La Grange Area Historical Society, a member of the St. Francis Xavier Finance Advisory Committee and a member of the La Grange Business Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending concerts and reading.
