The duo have been friends since they were 2 years old, growing up across the street from each other in the northwestern suburbs and even sporting matching gymnastics leotards as toddlers. Katie Daniels and Gayle Szewczyk continue their friendship of over 36 years while making up the Katie Gayle Team as brokers with Coldwell Banker Realty. “Our biggest strength is our ability to work together as one unit,” they proclaim. “We understand each other and are able to bounce ideas off of each other, utilizing each of our strengths for the benefit of our clients.”
Serving all types of clients in Chicago and the western and northwestern suburbs, the Katie Gayle Team has nine years’ combined experience. After having positive experiences purchasing their first properties, they wanted to help other people build equity while finding their dream homes. “We had experience on different association boards and attended real-estate interest events before deciding to obtain our real estate licenses,” they explain. “We coach and train others to have smooth home purchases, sales and rentals.”
Given the state of the market, Daniels and Szewczyk agree they were able to successfully coach clients throughout the ups and downs of this past year. “We keep our clients calm while providing a seamless transaction despite the craziness that exists all around,” they share. This means getting the highest price possible in the lowest number of days on the market for sellers and being competitive for buyers to win deals in securing their dream home. With a next-door neighbor style, the team treats clients like family while continuing to be professional, patient and informative. “We always have our clients’ backs and pride ourselves in guiding them in an ethical manner,” they say.
Winners of the 2021 d’aprile properties Silver Key award for sales, they were named as one of the three top-earning teams at the Coldwell Banker Realty Northwest office in 2022. Priding themselves on being of service to others, they support Make-A-Wish Illinois, the Chicago Diabetes Project and The Orchard.
