Long before she had a license, Sara Wilburn was studying floor plans, walking neighborhoods and mentally redesigning every room she walked into. Seeing a home’s hidden potential has defined her 12-year career across Chicago and the western suburbs.
Wilburn launched her career in 2014 under broker Suzanne Gignilliat, where she built her foundation in market knowledge, negotiation and client relationships. She grew up in La Grange Park and spent a decade working in the city before moving her family back to La Grange. This gives her total fluency in both markets. That dual fluency is central to her business; many of her clients move between city and suburbs as their lives evolve, and she has guided that transition countless times.
Wilburn’s client base is built almost entirely on referrals and repeat business. She helps first-time and repeat buyers and sellers, move-up buyers, and investors, working with single-family homes, condos, townhomes and investment properties. She’s known for staying calm under pressure, communicating clearly and telling clients what they need to hear. Wilburn recently guided 14 buyers through brutal multiple-offer battles, successfully closing them in the competitive $500k-to-$1 million range.
Her firm, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, has regularly honored her work, handing her their Outstanding Achievement, Visionary, Impact and Road to Rolex awards over the last several years. She uses Instagram and Facebook to market listings, educate clients on market conditions and maintain connections that often turn into yearslong relationships.
Wilburn channeled her design passion into a full renovation of her La Grange home, a project she considers both personally meaningful and professionally instructive. She and her husband are raising their family in the same community where she grew up — and welcomed son Louie in the summer of 2024.
