As his leadership responsibilities grow, Gerardo Tapia-Quiroz stays consistent in his approach to real estate deals: protect the client, communicate clearly, and bring a thoughtful strategy to every transaction.
“Experience gives you confidence, but it also gives you perspective,” says Tapia-Quiroz, lead agent, The Lewis Group, Baird & Warner. “At the end of the day, it’s about keeping things clear, being intentional with every step, and making sure everything we’re doing is truly in the client’s best interest.”
With more than a decade of experience in Chicago real estate, he takes an active role in pricing, positioning, negotiations, and client communication. Tapia-Quiroz works closely with team lead Danny Lewis while managing increasingly significant transactions and helping guide clients through decisions that often extend far beyond the sale itself. Lewis has given him exposure to more complex transactions and a high standard of client service.
Tapia-Quiroz pays close attention to what matters most to each client, how they make decisions, and what they need from him throughout the process.
“No two clients need the same thing from their agent,” he explains. “Some want to understand every detail, while others want you to take the lead, and simplify the process. My responsibility is to recognize that, adjust accordingly, and still be direct about what the market is telling us.”
That directness has become especially important in a market where buyers and sellers are navigating changing conditions, limited inventory, and shifting expectations. He’s comfortable having candid conversations about pricing, condition, timing, and strategy, particularly when the right approach may differ from what a client initially envisioned.
He views his role as more than facilitating a transaction. It is about identifying potential issues early, creating a clear strategy, and helping clients make informed decisions without allowing uncertainty or emotion to take control of the process.
