“I’ve been in this industry for 45 years and I’m still loving it,” Linda Scott proudly declares. After working as a Realtor for a few years, she took her real estate knowledge to try something new and lending seemed like the perfect fit. “I liked critical thinking and problem solving, along with the human connection,” Scott explains. “I was also drawn to the sales aspect of the profession and the opportunity to oversee my own business development.”
A senior residential mortgage specialist with Wintrust Mortgage, Scott is a national lender capable of originating in all 50 states. She specializes in first-time buyer, second home, condo, construction-to-permanent, doctor and portfolio loans, affordable loan programs and down payment assistance. “Experience really does count,” she shares. “There are so many guidelines and details in lending; the more situations I encounter in the business makes me a better loan originator.”
The Women’s Council of REALTORS® Chicago awarded Scott the 2015 Affiliate of the Year and 2021 Strategic Partner of the Year. The Chicago Association of REALTORS® named her 2017 Affiliate of the Year and she served on their board of directors from 2023-2024. She was also a member of Wintrust Mortgage Honors Circle in 2018 and 2021-2024. Receiving referrals from Realtors, past clients, attorneys and bank partners at Wintrust Mortgage, she stands out from other lenders by working and communicating with the borrower following their lead. “Lately I’ve had many seniors struggling with uploading documents so I’m doing more face-to-face applications,” she explains. “I will help my clients get to the finish line, no matter what it takes.”
The proud grandmother of a two-year-old grandson, Scott sings in Sounds Good! Choir in the Gold Coast and belongs to a book club. She is also an Airbnb host of Hummingbird Haven Cottage in Wisconsin.
