Meet MG Home Chicago, a “one-stop shop” real estate team, equipped with architecture and design experience to help clients’ visions come to life — whether sourcing and updating an existing home or creating from the ground up.
Lead realtor and designer Michaela Gordon is an architect by trade. She earned her degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology but realized shortly after graduating that her passion lay in real estate. “I didn’t have a safety net to fall on,” she shares. “I figured the safest thing to do, the thing I could always count on, was myself. So I bet on myself in building a real estate and design business.”
Gordon’s teammate and fellow Chicago native Ilana Steelman specializes in helping clients through transitional periods in their real estate journey, such as those who are moving from the city to the suburbs or making the switch from renting to owning. She got her first taste of the industry as a leasing agent while obtaining her degree at the University of Illinois. Following graduation, she ventured into public relations and marketing before realizing that real estate was her calling. “I loved everything about it, especially getting to be a big part of making a lasting impact on people’s lives,” Steelman shares. “I realized the happiest I have ever been careerwise was in real estate and chose to forge my own path as an entrepreneur.”
The team is on a roll. Gordon achieved over $12 million in sales in 2022 and completed @properties Christie’s International Real Estate’s Road to Rolex program. A newcomer to the industry, Steelman was hailed as a Rising Star by Real Producers magazine and was named Chicago Agent Magazine’s Rookie of the Year.
With an eye toward expanding the MG Home footprint, Gordon earned her California real estate license in 2023 and now also works on the Brooke A. Elliot team at AKG, Christie’s International Real Estate in Beverly Hills.
