Matt Thomas, Real Estate Broker

Baird & Warner

Setting expectations is the foundation of a successful transaction. Matt Thomas loves educating his clients and understands the importance of “telling it like it is—not like you want to hear,” he says. Clients also know he’ll protect their interests. “I’m relentless in defending and pursuing my client’s goals in a transaction,” he says. “I’ve established a reputation for being a trustworthy confidant for my clients and a fierce defender of their rights while maintaining respect. I negotiate well, have a deep understanding of market data and trends, and communicate effectively.”

For Thomas, data drives his business and has been the bedrock of his practice since beginning his real estate career over four years ago. Now in his seventh year as a Chicago resident, Thomas has dedicated a great deal of his time learning the nuances of each neighborhood. “I’m able to discuss neighborhoods in both the micro and macro sense,” he says. “Everything from expected market value and competition to tips for great restaurants.” This special skill set is key to Thomas’s success. “I run and interpret data like nobody’s business,” he says. “My clients always have the best information available before making big decisions, and regularly outpace the average negotiated price.”

Last year, he surpassed $40 million in career sales volume with over 150 real estate transactions to his credit. He’s the recipient of numerous accolades from Baird & Warner, including Rookie of the Year (2018), Chairman’s Club (top 10 percent of the company, 2019) and Founder’s Club (top 5 percent of the company, 2020 and 2021).

Above all, he says, “I absolutely love what I do. I’m thankful to have worked with so many incredible clients and am excited to help many more accomplish their real estate goals in the years to come.”
