With more than 20 years in the industry, Jon Goldman takes a businesslike approach to each transaction. He makes sure every step is clearly defined, maintains communication throughout the process and keeps in mind the emotional aspect of the home financing process. “It is my job to get my client to the finish line as efficiently and smoothly as possible,” he says. Clients say he is knowledgeable and attentive and that he treats them as if they were his only customer.
“My client base ranges from first-time homebuyers to CEOs of large corporations,” says Goldman, senior vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate Affinity. “I love their stories and connecting with them on a personal level. I care immensely about each one of my clients and have become personal friends with most of them. They trust me and refer me to their children, parents, colleagues and friends.”
The statistics and accolades say it all: Goldman is among the top 3 lenders at GRA nationwide in loan volume, has been a President’s Club member for over eight years, has been featured on Mortgage Executive Magazine’s list of the top 1% of mortgage originators in America for four years in a row, was given the Scotsman Guide’s Top Originators award, was voted lender of the year in Chicago Agent magazine and landed in Chicago Agent’s Who’s Who in Chicagoland Residential Real Estate group eight times — all while maintaining an unheard-of net promoter score of over 95% and a customer loyalty score of 90%.
Although Goldman works around the clock, he is a family man at heart. “My family is the driving force behind everything I do,” he says. “Spending time with them and maintaining a work-life balance is one of the big keys to my success.” Another passion of Goldman’s is contributing to nonprofit boards. He currently sits on the Chicago advisory board for the Concussion Legacy Foundation, which helps create guidelines to reduce concussions in all areas of sports.
