Coming off of a stellar year, Rebecca Mott is enjoying running the newest branch of CrossCountry Mortgage, which she recently opened. “It was a very personal project for me, and I was involved with everything including prospecting locations and poring over plans — all while continuing to originate and close loans,” Mott says. “It was a very hectic time, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see the fruits of my labor finally become a reality.”

Having secured a decade’s worth of President’s Club memberships at two different lenders where she’s worked, Mott has been in the real estate industry for 19 years and attributes her success to expertise and support. “Knowledge is always your best weapon,” Mott says. “My success is also a byproduct of having a strong team in place. I could not have one without the other.”

Mott, who originally worked in sales for a new-home developer, was encouraged to become a loan officer by a recruiter from LaSalle Bank. “My background in new construction is very helpful because many of my clients need construction loans,” Mott says. “By having a thorough understanding of the process, it eliminates a lot of the guesswork and stress for my clients, which allows for a more informed and pleasant experience.”

Known for her determination, can-do attitude and strong leadership skills, Mott is committed to finding a solution for each client. “No two situations are alike, and that’s what I love about this business,” she says.

A strong advocate for transparency, Mott ensures that her clients have a clear understanding of the process and what it entails. “I review the entire process, from preapproval to funding, with each client to ensure that they understand all the costs and what to expect,” she says.

An avid runner and swimmer, Mott is a member of a local golf club, where she enjoys watching her twin boys’ skills shine. She also serves on the fundraising committee for the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
