Steve McEwen, Real Estate Consultant, Broker and Founding Agent

@properties

Steve McEwen is the charismatic leader of a highly productive team with over 750 transactions and more than $200 million in residential real estate sales. The Chicago Association of Realtors has consistently awarded the Steve McEwen Group with its Top Producer recognition since 2007. A founding agent of @properties, McEwen was also recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the city’s most influential residential real estate brokers in 2018 as well as the leader of Chicago magazine’s best real estate team in 2019. “I’m blessed to lead a team of experienced agents as dynamic and diverse as the city of Chicago,” he says. “We were one of the first hybrid teams to cover both the city and suburbs.”

As a former licensed real estate appraiser, McEwen provides sharp insight into property valuation. His knowledge protects buyers from overpaying for investments and keeps sellers from overpricing properties, which can lead to longer market time and lost equity. McEwen’s closed listings sell on average at 99.4% of list price.

With a background in broadcast journalism, McEwen spent more than a decade as a radio personality, voiceover talent and account executive. “I was fortunate to fulfill a dream of working at numerous radio stations in Chicago and in freelance television,” he says. “This experience helps us communicate clearly with clients, create unique advertising concepts and produce exciting events that really stand out. I also use my broadcasting experience to create and produce high-quality, high-definition videos that are customized for each client.”

McEwen and his wife, Robin, support GRIP Outreach for Youth, which supports fatherless children, and LYDIA Home, which aids minors in foster care. He is a volunteer coach for the football team of his twin sons, Joshua and Levi. He is very proud of his daughters, too: Kailie graduated from the University of Wisconsin and Grace just graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep and was awarded an academic scholarship to attend DePaul University.
