After 27 years as part owner of a mortgage brokerage, Jeff Schneller recently accepted the position of sales manager with Wintrust Mortgage at the Beverly Bank branch. “I built strong relationships with past clients, real estate agents, attorneys and financial planners,” he says. “I ultimately feel that I can serve my clients best by working for Wintrust Mortgage.”
Specializing in self-employed borrowers; first-time buyer programs; down payment assistance (or grants); alternative income programs; and doctor, investor and construction loans, Schneller credits his success to experience. “I’ve helped people purchase their first house, dream house and vacation house, and I’ve aided clients to consolidate debt and increase equity,” he notes. “After all of these years, I have truly become an expert and I am proud of that.” While most loans go smoothly, he says, when things go wrong, clients need an experienced lender.
Named as a top producer by the Scotsman Guide, Schneller has been a member of Business Network International for the past 10 years. He also serves as president of the Volkman Foundation, honoring a friend who lost his battle to cancer at a young age. His team includes Tamar Neff, his loan officer assistant, and Delaine Page, his processor, along with other professionals who review and assist him. “It’s all about work ethic,” he says. “Loans are the biggest financial decision that most people make, and they rely on us to prepare them to purchase, not just issue a preapproval letter.”
A proud father of two sons, ages 11 and 13, Schneller, along with his wife, loves watching them play sports and grow into fine young men. When not working, he enjoys playing golf, coaching baseball, dining out and spending time at their cottage in Indiana.
