Nick Temen worked as a Chicago Fire Department paramedic for a decade but spent more than twice as long as a part-time Realtor. After retiring as a paramedic, he went into lending to continue serving people in a different way. “Having the opportunity to work in both real estate and mortgage lending allows me to provide a unique perspective and create a smoother experience for my clients,” Temen explains. “I’ve built my career around relationships, service and being someone people can count on long after the transaction is over.”

A mortgage loan originator with Citywide Home Mortgage, Temen assists first responders, teachers, healthcare professionals and families throughout the Chicagoland area. Offering a wide range of loan products including conventional FHA, VA, jumbo and first-time homebuyer programs, his biggest focus is to help clients understand their options and create financing strategies that fit their long-term goals. “I remain passionate about serving the first-responder community and helping the people who spend their lives helping others,” he shares. “At the end of the day, success for me isn’t measured only by numbers; it’s measured by the impact I can make and the relationships I build.”

Crediting his success to his willingness to work hard and continue learning, Temen had over 100 closed transactions as a Realtor. He also leans on his managers, who have over 20 years’ experience, as he takes on the toughest applications with full confidence that his team is on his side. Temen continues building his referral-based business, earning recognition for his work ethic, honesty and transparency.

Temen was a basketball player for the University of Georgia and also played in Europe for a few years; it continues to be his favorite sport. He also enjoys lifting weights, doing bikram yoga, going jet skiing and listening to country music.
