A former stock options trader working on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Brian Salomon transitioned to mortgage lending after computers displaced open outcry trading in the early 2000s. “My love of problem-solving and numbers drove me to the mortgage industry,” he says. “It’s a career where I am able to continue using my skills to help people finance their homes.”
Results-driven and licensed to lend in all 50 states, Salomon is a senior mortgage consultant with Wintrust Mortgage. Expanding his business nationally over the past eight years, he grew his client base to include national lending clients, as well as in-house lines of credit and portfolio lending. “It feels great to be able to say yes to many types of programs,” he shares. “It’s an added bonus that I’m so intimately familiar with all the products I recommend.”
Ranked among the top 1% of mortgage lenders by Mortgage Executive Magazine for over a decade, Salomon also received the Guaranteed Rate President’s Club award. Recipient of the loandepot Chairman Elite recognition, he is a member of the Wintrust Mortgage Presidents Circle and for the last 10 years won the Five Star Professional award from Chicago Magazine. With 20 years of industry experience, he delegates a portion of the process to his relationship manager and processors to ensure a personalized experience with clients and referral partners. “My team is quick to respond and transparent, which makes the process much easier for everyone,” he explains. “Our clients feel confident about our partnership when they can reach out to any one of us at any time.”
Salomon and his wife, Lisa, have three children and two golden retrievers. “Spending time outside of work with my family is my greatest joy,” he adds.
