Peter Green admits there have been many times when a client likes a home, and he talks them out of buying it. “I remind them of their goals and why the particular property doesn’t work for them,” says Green, an award-winning broker with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate. “It’s why people enjoy working with me – they appreciate the honesty.”
About 90% of his business in the city and suburbs comes from referrals. “It’s a huge compliment, and it makes the work that I do worthwhile and a lot of fun.”
Green received his first “Road to the Rolex” award from @Properties in 2021 for selling more than $10 million in real estate. Since then, he has consistently sold upwards of $10 million in properties annually and has been named a Top Producer by the Chicago Association of REALTORS®.
Green grew up in various old homes in Wilmette. His mom was a Realtor, and his parents owned investment properties in the city of Chicago. “They were always working on a house project or planning a rehab,” he recalls. “I’m used to seeing a raw space and coming up with ways to rehab it into something great.”
His mom’s best friend, real estate veteran Kevin Wood, encouraged him to join her team in 2015. “It was one of the best decisions I ever made,” he says. “She is a great mentor and teacher.”
Green recently started producing videos to help promote his listings, engage with clients and prospects, and remain relevant in a unique way.
“@Properties gives me a lot of great marketing tools and resources to share with clients,” he says. “I’ve also built strong relationships with lenders, attorneys, and colleagues, which helps a lot.”
Secretary of the @ Give Back Board, he enjoys collaborating with colleagues to give back to the community that supports them.
