Growing up in Winnetka and attending New Trier High School, Danny O’Donoghue was always fascinated by how different neighborhoods developed their own distinct styles. His interest in real estate started with a genuine appreciation for architecture and community design. That curiosity never left him; 22 years ago, it steered him toward a career where he could put such a passion to work every day.
O’Donoghue specializes in the Near North Side and North Shore markets, focusing on luxury buyers and sellers navigating some of the Chicago area’s most competitive and storied neighborhoods. After living in Lincoln Park and Lakeview as an adult, he and his wife, Katy, moved to the Southport Corridor to raise their three children. Living and working in these neighborhoods gives him a firsthand understanding of the local market, allowing him to offer practical guidance based on actual community experience.
O’Donoghue understands the importance of listening. Matching a buyer to the right property isn’t only about square footage or price point; throughout his 22 years in the business, he has learned that it’s about understanding how a client wants to live each day. His focus on clear communication and understanding client needs has allowed him to build a largely referral-based business.
In his free time, O’Donoghue coaches youth hockey and still laces up himself. He and Katy are raising their family in the Southport Corridor, in the same city he has spent his adult life learning — one block, one building and one neighborhood at a time.
