When James Tausché began his mortgage banking career 30 years ago as a loan officer for a major bank, he received formal training in assisting borrowers, real estate agents and attorneys with care and precision. That early foundation emphasized clear, transparent communication — an approach that remains central to how he does business today.
Now a senior mortgage consultant with New American Funding, Tausché is known for his creative strategies to generate business, even in slower markets. His current focus includes VA lending and reverse mortgages—two underserved areas where he’s helped clients gain a competitive edge by positioning them as cash buyers, eliminating sales or mortgage contingencies.
Tausché serves a wide range of clients across the Chicagoland area, from first-time homebuyers to experienced investors, and is also licensed to lend nationwide.
“As the years have passed, it’s been a special privilege to not only help my clients secure financing but also to witness their life journeys,” he says. “From dating to marriage to growing families, I’ve been lucky to be part of their milestones — and many have become lifelong friends.”
Tausché is married with a son and has two rescue dogs. Outside of work, he’s an avid golfer, paddle tennis player and youth baseball coach. A lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs, he brings the same passion and dedication to his personal life as he does to his clients.
“I treat every client like gold,” he adds. “Whether it’s their first home or their fifth, my goal is to build a long-term relationship. I’m not here for the transaction — I’m here for the journey.”
Friendly, focused and committed, Tausché is known for being available to his clients 24/7.
