After buying his first home, Larry Libman became fascinated with the mortgage process. His loan officers during that transaction were friends from college, and they took care to help Libman understand their roles. Excited at the notion of helping people in such a way, he segued into mortgage lending 19 years ago from a career in sports broadcasting. He notes his previous life in broadcasting as having a profound effect on his current career as a loan officer. “Being able to speak clearly and conversationally with clients helps put them at ease and makes them more comfortable as we talk through the different scenarios for their specific situation,” he says.
