Earlier this week, Illinois’ largest independently-owned brokerage firm and Chicago’s No. 1 residential brokerage, @properties, announced that Rick Sobin has joined the company as its new vice president of brokerage services.
Sobin comes from fellow brokerage Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Groups, where he had served as the firm’s vice president and branch manager since 2009. Most recently Sobin managed KoenigRubloff’s Gold Coast office.
Michael Golden and Thaddeus Wong, co-founders of @properties, said that once the office opens this fall, Sobin will be working out of @properties’ new East Lincoln Park location, overseeing broker training, marketing and assisting with daily operations.
In the firm’s official announcement, Wong celebrated Sobin’s experience and presence, saying he “is one of the more interesting, knowledgeable and universally-liked brokers in our industry.”
“It’s a huge hire for @properties as we look to grow our presence in Lincoln Park and on Chicago’s New North Side,” Wong said.
As for Sobin himself, he seemed equally excited to begin his position at @properties.
“As a local, independent company, @properties is able to quickly respond to market changes,” he said. “I admire their energy, their creative marketing and the focus they place on their brokers. When Realtors are given the time, attention and resources they need to do their jobs well, the client comes away a winner, and that’s why you’ve seen @properties succeed in such a big way.”
