Rosie O'Donnell purchased a 6,000-square-foot home in Wrigleyville in anticipation of her new show.

Chicago real estate was abuzz when rumors swirled that Rosie O’Donnell was scouting properties in the Lakeview area, and now it appears that those rumors have been confirmed.

O’Donnell will indeed be living in Lakeview, specifically a 6,000-square-foot, $2.5 million home located at 1517 W. Grace Street in Wrigleyville. Built in 2007, the three-story brick and limestone house features 11-foot ceilings, five bedrooms, five full baths, two half baths and a 2,000-square-foot roof deck, among other amenities (details can be found here, along with photographs).

The reason for Rosie’s Chicago arrival, as is the reason for so many other Chicago arrivals, was Oprah Winfrey. Starting Oct. 10, O’Donnell will be hosting “The Rosie Show” out of Oprah’s Harpo Studios. The Chicago-based talk show will premiere on Oprah’s OWN network.
