$32 Million Winnetka Chateau To Be Auctioned

by Chicago Agent

Le Grand Reve, modeled after Chateau Villandry in the Loire Valley, will sell at auction Oct. 29.

Le Grand Reve, a beautiful chateau located in Winnetka, is set to be auctioned off on Oct. 29. The fully-furnished property, designed by Richard Landry of Landry Design Group, was originally listed at $32 million, but will sell to the highest bidder.

“The owner is committed to selling and in turn is willing to allow the bidders to name the price,” said listing agent Tim Salm of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty. “This is a special, exclusive property, unlike any other in Chicago’s North Shore, and the auction presents a tremendous opportunity to own the ultimate luxury lifestyle for your bid price.”

The estate, located at 68 Locust Road, is nearly 30,000 square feet on over two acres of land. Its entrance features an exquisite Tiffany stained glass dome and two-story rotunda. Other amenities include a spa, a soundproofed theater with stadium seating, a gym, a wine cellar and a library in addition to the six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, kitchen, formal dining room and grand room. The property also includes staff quarters, a butler’s pantry and kitchen, a craft room and a five-car heated garage, which is double height to allow storage for up to 10 cars.

The live, on-site auction will be provided by Concierge Auctions, a New York-based company in direct contact with over 100,000 luxury real estate buyers and agents. The company is committed to selling luxury properties for a fair market price within 60 days. Over a 10-year period, their principals have been involved in the transfer of more than $2 billion in luxury real estate sales.

Interested bidders must register and qualify before attending the auction and may participate in person, by telephone or by Internet. Brokers are protected. For more information, go to www.WinnetkaAuction.com or call 877-472-3686.
