Few pairings in Chicagoland real estate combine institutional muscle with on-the-ground practice quite like John Gormley and Kinga Korpacz’s partnership.
As chief executive officer of Mainstreet REALTORS®, Gormley has spent more than 25 years advancing the profession nationwide. His path into association leadership ran through the journalism field, a background that sharpened his instincts for communication and coalition building. He applied these skills within multiple Realtor associations before joining Mainstreet REALTORS® in 2017. Since then, he has built a high-performing team, deepened strategic partnerships and guided the organization to national “Great Place to Work” status for four consecutive years.
Korpacz brings a practitioner’s perspective to the table. As broker-owner of EXIT Realty Redefined in Rolling Meadows and Hickory Hills and the 2025–2026 president of Mainstreet REALTORS®, she has worked in residential real estate for more than 24 years. Her extensive roster of designations — including Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate, Realtor Institute and Accredited Buyer’s Representative, among others — reflects a career built on continuous professional development.
At the state and national levels, Korpacz chairs the Illinois REALTORS® Local Government Affairs Committee and serves as a federal political coordinator — work she sees as inseparable from protecting the property rights and professional interests of agents across the region.
This dual approach combines association strategy with active market experience, driving Mainstreet REALTORS® forward. While Gormley directs his efforts toward education, strategic planning and building community ties through his work with The Conservation Foundation, Korpacz focuses on direct mentorship, elevating women in business and local advocacy. For both leaders, these roles are less about titles and more about a practical responsibility to the members and neighborhoods they serve.
