Real estate has been part of Kim Broznowski Powers’ life since childhood. She grew up alongside her mother, Linda Broznowski, a real estate professional for more than 50 years. She spent five years in event planning and marketing before a company closure opened the door to a new career.
What started as a detour became a passion. Throughout her 26 years as a broker, including over 20 years with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, Powers has guided clients through moves, downsizing and estate transitions across the suburbs and Chicagoland.
Powers built her reputation as a home transition specialist, working with first-time buyers, downsizers and families settling estates. In recent years, she has deepened her estate practice, building relationships with probate attorneys along the way. Although she currently lives in Arlington Heights, where she grew up, she spent years living in Lincoln Park, Old Town, Lakeview, North Center and Evanston. She stays involved in her community as a member of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.
Raising three children keeps Powers busy at hockey rinks, baseball fields and golf courses. A past PTA president and executive board member for her children’s elementary and middle schools, she now serves as the corporate sponsorship chair for her son’s high school athletic booster organization. She is a proud Rolling Meadows alumna and is excited that her kids are attending the same school.
“One of the things that sets me apart is that my relationship with clients doesn’t end at the closing table,” Powers explains. Former clients return to her years later for contractor referrals, renovation advice and investment guidance. More than 90% of her business comes through referrals, built on ties to Arlington Heights and Chicago. She works alongside a four-person team — including her mother — that offers 85 years of combined experience.
