Because no two clients are the same, Brian Fishman tailors every mortgage solution to the borrower’s individual needs. “I include a holistic approach to evaluating my clients’ current jobs, their career prospects and their financial portraits,” he explains. “I act as their advisor throughout the entire process.”
A national mortgage banker with Wintrust Mortgage, Fishman earned a master’s degree in sports marketing and management before entering the mortgage industry in 1992. Over 30 years later, he continues to deliver jumbo adjustable-rate mortgages, unique seven- and 10-year mortgages, and other loans that don’t exactly fit into the standard underwriting guidelines. In addition to conventional lending, he adds physician and construction financing to his tool kit. With about half his business being nationwide, most of his clients are referrals from friends, financial advisors, CPAs and Realtors. “I am incredibly grateful for the 30-plus years of clients, referrals and repeat business,” he says.
Named to the Wintrust Mortgage President’s Circle and Honors Circle in successive years since joining the company four years ago, Fishman credits his success to his ability to listen to clients’ needs. “I really focus on listening in order to create a relationship with my clients that goes further than just a transaction,” he remarks. “We work together to strategically create a plan beyond the purchase or refinance of properties.” Known for his laid-back style and low-pressure approach, he describes himself as a people person with a natural ability with numbers. “I like to help prospective clients understand their current situation and what steps we can accomplish together if they choose to work with me,” he says. “At the end of the day, I’m just trying to help people with their homebuying needs.”
When not working, Fishman enjoys spending quality time with his family, golfing, attending live music events and playing pickleball.
