A small but mighty team, the K&G Collective at Compass is a collaboration of like-minded individuals who share a passion for helping clients.

After operating their respective teams independently, co-principals Terry Kraus and Shelly Gubser started the collective to grow and support each other using their unique strengths. They are pictured here with one of their talented agents, Jatnna Idonije. “Over the last few years, I’ve watched Idonije learn and grow into a very talented agent who is becoming a true powerhouse,” Kraus shares.

Before their collective 20+ years in real estate, Kraus worked in hospitality, and Gubser worked in advertising. In these careers, they mastered effective communication, organization under pressure and understanding what drives people’s decisions — skills that translate well to real estate. Kraus brings deep market insight and sharp negotiation skills to the transaction table; Gubser provides a refined aesthetic, strong attention to detail and clear communication; Idonije offers a combination of all of these skills.

Knowledgeable, responsive and invested in achieving clients’ goals, the K&G Collective takes a calm, confident approach to real estate, which puts clients at ease. “We absolutely crushed our first year as a team,” Gubser, Kraus and Idonije report. “Our sales volume increased dramatically in an otherwise ‘slow’ market.”

A CAR Top Producer and member of the Compass Legends Society, the team attributes its success to remaining calm, listening closely and never rushing the process. Given the team’s achievements in the Chicago market, Kraus recently expanded the K&G Collective and Compass in the West Michigan market. “It’s an honor to be pioneering the way for the team and Compass to join this new market,” he shares.

“Collaboration is key in this market,” the team explains. “Being a team motivates us to do great things for each other.”
