Michael Bencks launched his professional journey in the medical device field, where he sold orthopedic and spinal implants alongside some of Chicagoland’s leading neurosurgeons. In 2008, he pivoted to the mortgage industry, motivated by a desire to guide friends and family through the home financing process — a leap of faith that turned into a lasting passion.

Now serving as vice president of mortgage lending at Neighborhood Loans Inc., Bencks brings over 16 years of industry experience to the table. His communication style is built on transparency, consistency and clarity — translating complex mortgage concepts into everyday language. He believes in keeping things simple, staying accessible and treating every client like a friend.

His commitment to the industry hasn’t gone unnoticed. He was named Affiliate of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2020, and has maintained active involvement in nonprofit work and community efforts in Lincolnshire, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
