As a real estate broker, educator, association president, guide, mother and friend, Nykea Pippion McGriff wears many hats . . . and titles. Nicknamed the “Deal Doctor,” she has served the buyers and sellers of the Chicago area since 2005, specializing in single-family homes, condos and multiunit sales. And during the past few years, she’s been inspired to step up even more and serve her community and industry.
In her current role as vice president of strategic growth at Coldwell Banker, McGriff combines empathy and integrity with an extensive knowledge of current real estate practices and trends. She seamlessly guides agents through one of the most exciting real estate markets in decades, while balancing a sense of compassion and unparalleled professionalism. McGriff earned President’s Council Manager status for Coldwell Banker in 2021, and she and her team led the company’s No. 1 office for sales in Illinois in 2022 (Lincoln Park branch) and 2021 (Gold Coast branch).
In her personal career growth, McGriff is constantly adding to her list of individual accomplishments. Inducted into the National Association of Realtors’ Hall of Fame Class of 2022, she also received the RisMedia NewsMaker Influencer award the same year. Due to her dedication and hard work, the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR) named McGriff their 2022 Realtor of the Year. She has continued to connect with her community, running for Illinois’ District 1 Congressional seat. In 2021, McGriff served as the first African American female president of CAR, which she calls “an amazing journey and opportunity.” She also works as an instructor for CAR and leverages her technology know-how as a contract trainer for Midwest Real Estate Data LLC.
McGriff is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. In honor of her late son, McGriff founded the Xavier O. Joy Scholarship, sponsored by the CAR Foundation, which provides financial assistance to students who are attending Morehouse College.
