Coco Harris, Broker Associate

Coco & April Group, COMPASS

Committed to representing her clients’ best interests, Coco Harris knows how to ascertain their greatest priorities and deliver results. As a broker associate with COMPASS and co-founder of the Coco & April Group, Harris, a resident of Chicagoland since 1995, specializes in the North Shore market and maintains a referral-based business, with clients ranging from luxury sellers to first-time homebuyers.

Growing up immersed in the real estate industry thanks to her mother’s 40-year career in the business, Harris previously worked in corporate sales for the Four Seasons hotel company in Chicago before returning to her roots. “My time in the hotel industry taught me so much about sales, marketing, time management, problem-solving and, most importantly, customer service,” she says.

Understanding that relationships matter, Harris works tirelessly to build trust and rapport with many local agents, which in this low-inventory market helps keep her informed of new listings and market knowledge while continually being collaborative.

Abiding by her unofficial motto, “Looking at homes is never a waste of time,” Harris helps her clients identify their preferences and understand the market to better prepare them to act quickly and secure the house of their dreams. “I won’t hesitate to push clients to see something that I think will be a really great fit, regardless of whether or not they agree,” she explains. “I have had so many buyers say to me, ‘After all of our online searching, I can’t believe that you were still the one who found our house for us.’”

An avid reader, Harris always has a book on her bedside table and loves to share and receive recommendations. She enjoys traveling and always makes her weekly yoga practice a priority. Her oldest son, Alex, is newly licensed and also working at COMPASS. “It has been such a joy to experience residential real estate through his eyes,” she shares. “I am immensely proud of him.” Griffin, her youngest son, is an economics major at Xavier University in Cincinnati. “He is promising to never follow in my or his brother’s footsteps,” she says.
