There is perhaps no better description for working with Justin Lucas than his self-ascribed hashtag, #RealEstateDoula. Recalling the transactional nature of his mother’s home sale, Lucas prides himself on understanding his clients’ needs. His style is a merger of professionalism and ethics, coupled with an interjection of sporadic comic relief.
Serving primarily single-family and land clients in Harbor Country, Lucas fell in love with and later moved to the area after experiencing the Harbor Country Home + Garden Tour. A life-changing death in the family two years before served as the catalyst for his career change. “After the sudden and unexpected passing of my older brother in 2016, I realized we never know when our time is up and we need to pursue things that make us happy,” he says.
Appreciated by clients for his steadiness and composure, Lucas has leveraged his corporate experience to streamline client interactions over the past six years. “I’ve been successful at anticipating obstacles and addressing them before they become problems,” he says. He credits organizational skills and effective communication as critical to his success.
In 2021, Lucas’s team was recognized by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a Top Producing Team. Throughout his career, since 2017, he has sold more than $65 million and more than 160 transactions across multiple states. Alongside these impressive numbers, he maintains membership in his local and national Realtor associations.
Last year, Lucas turned a hobby and passion into a business by co-investing in a rental property that is now listed on Airbnb in Three Oaks. He now does interior design work as an extension of his business and regularly donates to Humble Design, a company that furnishes properties for those coming out of homelessness. Lucas looks forward to growing his team in Southwest Michigan and enjoys exploring the state’s golf courses when he’s not on a boat on Lake Michigan.
