Don’t be surprised when Jamie Lee responds to emails in the middle of the night—she never wants to miss one of her clients’ needs.
Before moving to North America, Lee worked in broadcasting in Korea and even had her own radio and TV shows. When she moved to North America, she found work as a radio DJ for a Korean radio station in Toronto and Chicago. “I think I can interact with people because of my previous careers,” she says. “Communicating is very important in the real estate field.”
Lee was originally approached about becoming a Realtor by a friend who said she was a natural-born broker. While real estate might not sound like the natural career progression after working in broadcast radio, Lee was fascinated by the concept of finding the right homes for people.
Today, Lee mainly serves the Korean population of Chicago, specializing in multigenerational transactions. Her clients say she’s extremely hard-working and always has their best interests at heart. Lee says she tries to read her clients’ personalities: “Everyone has his or her own style when interacting with brokers,” she says.
Lee was a member of Baird & Warner’s President’s Club in 2019, and the brokerage’s Founder’s Club in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She also received an award from the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors for placing in the top 5 percent by residential units sold.
“I’m just lucky,” she says. “Everybody’s working hard.”
During the past year, Lee has expanded her business to include commercial real estate.
