Financially strapped and bored with her marketing job, Casselyn Tertell took the leap into a real estate career at age 23. Having grown up with a mom who was a real estate agent, Tertell instantly knew she had chosen the right path. Now, 15 years later, she helms The Casselyn Group in the same western suburbs where she grew up, leading the team of Glenn Garlisch and Natalie Mannette.

Loyalty breeds loyalty, and Tertell finds that her commitment to always doing what is right for the client has been instrumental to her success. “My clients know it’s not about the transaction; it is about what is the best option for them, and maybe selling or buying at this time isn’t the best option. They know I will protect them at all costs and always be available to communicate when an issue may arise,” she shares.

The native Chicagoan is proud of her team, with each member bringing something special to the business. “Natalie’s extensive knowledge of real estate and the Oak Brook market is amazing. Glenn will go above and beyond for a client, from helping them find a home to literally moving their furniture and fixing things around the house,” states Tertell.

Though 2022 was a tumultuous year for real estate, Tertell says she still had one of her best years. She credits her practice of educating her clients on making sound financial decisions as a factor, along with her negotiating skills. “The fact that I have gotten my client base into their new homes without always being the highest offer, but by explaining why my client is the strongest buyer, makes me very proud,” she adds.

Tertell earned a position in the COMPASS Legends Society in 2022 and 2023. Chicago magazine has named her a Five Star Real Estate Agent for 12 consecutive years.
