Beginning his real estate career in 1992 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Aleksandr Katsman was known as one of the pioneering agents in his city; among the first 14 professionals in the field there. Katsman excelled in the business for three years and then made the difficult but necessary decision to emigrate his entire family to the United States for a better future. With a degree in music, he started his career in that field but changed to computer programming after moving to Chicago. “Even after achieving success, my passion for real estate persisted,” he says.
Now a designated managing broker and partner at Barr Agency Real Estate Consultants, in both Illinois and Florida, Katsman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s sales operations. His latest project is based in Florida, where he maintains a deep knowledge of that market. Known as a trustworthy broker, he provides constant support and guidance for his clients. “I place great emphasis on honesty, trust and effective communication, from the very first meeting,” he explains. “My ultimate goal is to ensure my clients not only find a home they love but also continue to thrive there for many years.”
Katsman has received numerous accreditations, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, Real Estate Negotiation Expert and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource.
He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors and the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, who listed him as one of the top 50 highest-ranking producers in 2022. The Chicago Association of Realtors awarded him a bronze top producer in 2022. The Mainstreet Organization of Realtors listed him in the top 1% of residential transactions and a platinum member.
In addition to his deep love for music, Katsman also enjoys soccer, hockey and indulging in ocean swims whenever possible. “My family holds immense significance in my life,” he adds. “I take pleasure in guiding my three children as they develop and grow.”
