“I have always had a strong interest in the real estate field and have been fortunate to transition a 30-year banking career into my passion, real estate sales,” shares Baird & Warner broker Kathryn Festen. “I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue my dream of working in the real estate industry and haven’t looked back since. Working with people and problem-solving is what I do best. Having an innate skill to listen, a keen eye for décor [and] the talent to negotiate made it easier to take that leap of faith and bring my 30 years [of] lending experience and expertise along with me to assist my sellers and buyers.”

Festen especially enjoys working with first-time homebuyers, downsizers and individuals and families who are new to the Chicago area. “I grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and moved to the northwest suburbs 13 years ago,” she shares. “While living and working in the suburbs, I have gained a great familiarity and understanding of all of these markets.” Clients appreciate Festen’s communication, flexibility, friendliness and strong financial background. “My 30 years’ banking experience [and] customer service experience has been of extreme value to my real estate clients,” she says. “My knowledge of the loan process, in conjunction with my drive to succeed for my clients, makes a win-win combination.” She takes an educational approach to her work, explaining that asking questions and understanding the goals and desires of her clients allow her to help them and update them throughout the process. “I value each and every relationship I build and consider my clients friends for life,” she says.

Since beginning her real estate career just five years ago, Festen has been named the Rising Star in her Baird & Warner office and has received the Baird & Warner President’s Club distinction every year for the past three years.
