Lamont Ellebb, Owner, 007 Security

CEO, Champagne Closings

Being an entrepreneur for 33 years has proven instrumental to Lamont Ellebb’s successful real estate career. “I learned to fish for myself and taught others so that they will never starve in this industry,” Ellebb shares. “In real estate they teach you what to do once you catch the fish, not how to catch the fish.” As the owner of 007 Security, an authorized ADT dealership, and CEO of Champagne Closings, a one-of-a-kind, celebratory experience for homebuyers, he is making his mark on the industry.

An Illinois native, Ellebb is licensed in 44 states and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. He is passionate about educating and sharing home safety tips with homeowners and uses his background in home improvement to assist Realtors during their final walkthroughs of homes. A previous job as a nightclub owner in Chicago taught him the importance of providing five-star service. “That experience ignited my visionary approach to clients,” he explains. “A concept that stemmed from it was the creation of Champagne Closings.” Last year he was proud to collaborate with DRG Title, owned by an African-American women who recognized the value in his brand.

With 98% of his business coming from referrals, he partners with insurance agents, Realtors, loan officers, attorneys, home inspectors, appraisers, locksmiths, moving companies, developers, title companies, contractors and clients. “My business style includes transparency and education because people do not like to be sold, they like to buy,” he notes. “My motto is: I don’t sell, I educate.”

A member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Roseland, pastored by Reverend Dr. A Edward Davis Jr., Ellebb volunteers as a greeter, is involved in the men’s ministry and serves as a mortgage liquidation board member. He also spearheads an annual turkey drive giveaway, currently in its sixth year, to feed 5,000 people for Thanksgiving.

Ellebb is focused on providing for his daughter so she does not have to work while attending medical school. “My daughter has been in college since she was 16, and she’s about to graduate,” he boasts. “I am her No. 1 fan. She is my why.”
