Real estate has turned out to be not so much a career as a lifestyle for Danielle Dowell and her team. “Something our group has in common is most of us worked in the hospitality business at some point,” says Dowell, founder of The Dowell Group/Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group. “A lot of aspects and characteristics transfer from hospitality to real estate, such as customer service and the ability to read people.”
Each member of the team left hospitality because they wanted to work for themselves and work less. “It turns out, this job has us working harder than ever,” Dowell says. “But we love every second.”
The proof is in the numbers. In 2017, Dowell’s team produced more than $50 million in sales. Their secret is in the approach. Dowell has a knack for finding the right people and putting them in the right positions to benefit clients. She understands which of her team members will excel with certain personalities, positions and property types, and assigns them to clients accordingly. “Everyone on the team has a different strength and type of home they primarily focus on,” she says. “Whether it’s rentals, investment properties, new construction, listings or buyers, we try to have someone that knows the most in that arena to accommodate the client’s needs and best interests.”
Dowell has accumulated a treasure trove of awards, including Top Producer Achiever and Top 1% of Realtors in Chicago from the Chicago Association of Realtors, Chairman’s Circle and Diamond Club from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group, Crain’s Most Influential Agent and Mastermind Most Influential Agent. She was also featured in CS magazine’s 2018 Most Dynamic Women issue.
The Dowell Group specializes in new construction, re-sales and luxury properties in the Chicago area. “We have also expanded and hired full-time agents that have been in the industry for several years in the south, west and north suburbs,” she says.
All of Dowell’s agents undergo an in-house training program that streamlines the process from beginning to end regardless of where their clients are buying or selling.
“Our clients appreciate having an agent that is committed and knowledgeable,” Dowell says. “We work 24/7 and pride ourselves in working around our clients’ schedules day or night to accomplish their goals.”
Even so, the team knows how to have fun and enjoys each other’s company at bimonthly outings. They also support the community by holding a fundraiser to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
