The 8th floor unit at 1325 N. Astor Street is listed for $2.65 million. With three bedrooms, four baths and 3,980 sq ft; the vintage unit is complemented by tasteful modern updates that perhaps only Berkus himself could have pulled off.

“The homeowner (Berkus) put in work, adding air conditioning and upgrading the master suite’s closet and bathroom, while at the same time leaving certain elements intact that give this home a certain historical richness,” says listing agent Katherine Chez of Coldwell Banker. “The layout of the home allows for both space and intimacy.”

Constructed in 1928, the 1320 N. Astor vintage high rise comprises 12 full-floor units, on-site parking and 24-hour doorstaff, according to the property’s listing. Beyond the premises, the posh Gold Coast neighborhood offers the best of Chicago to its residents.

“The Gold Coast location is perfect for work and weekend,” says Chez. “You’re close to downtown and its many attractions, and just across Lake Shore Drive you have the waterfront for all your outdoor recreation needs.”

Berkus now hosts his own interior design program, “The Nate Berkus Show,” which airs locally on NBC 5 Chicago at 2:00 p.m., weekdays.
