Tamara O’Connor
Broker/Owner
Premier Living Properties
For Tamara O’Connor, real estate is truly a family affair. While her husband builds homes, she and daughter Amanda help people buy and sell them as partners at Premier Living Properties. The intersection of her career and her husband’s development expertise gives her a unique perspective when advising clients how best to raise their property value and make their home more comfortable. “I love helping people find the best place to raise their family and live life to the fullest,” she explains.
With designations that include Graduate Realtor Institute certification, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and Certified Residential Specialist, O’Connor finds it important to remain abreast of real estate trends and practices even after nearly 30 years in the industry. She also leads by example as a certified Buffini & Company mentor who coaches her team to achieve highly successful yet balanced lives. And although Premier Living Properties has been part of the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World since 2006, its affiliation with the boutique network of the finest firms around the globe has not changed O’Connor’s view on what “luxury” really means. “We believe ‘luxury’ is a level of service, not a price point, and Premier Living specializes in luxury service.”
Technology, she says, has enhanced that service. “We can communicate faster, send information out easily and touch so many more people so much more quickly each and every day.” But O’Connor adds that technology can never replace the human interaction that is at the core of real estate. “Getting to know people and helping them through the complicated process of buying and selling. That’s the fun part of what I do.”
An agency owner who continues to list and sell properties, O’Connor supports her Realtors by helping them customize a marketing plan, promoting them through social media and featuring them in her company magazine. As a result, her firm consistently places in the Top 20 Kane County brokerages and she herself is ranked among its Top 20 agents. Premier Living also boasted the highest list-to-sale prices among the Top 10 Kane County brokerages for the past two years. O’Connor credits those honors to abiding by what she deems her firm’s golden rule: Do what needs to be done for each and every client as if it is your own home, your own purchase. “When you put the client first,” she says, “success is inevitable.”
