Advisers and partners have always influenced Robin Chessick’s life, but knowing a mentor in the real estate industry changed the course of her career.
Now a broker with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, Chessick once worked for a company that helped real estate professionals find referrals and reward their clients for sending them. “I sold to Realtors for 10 years before entering the market as an agent,” she says. “This helps me understand how they think and act.” She assisted more than 100 brokers during that time and wanted to make the move to help clients. When a mentor in the industry encouraged Chessick to join her team, which was based only 20 minutes away from her home, she did not hesitate to make the move.
“Real estate gives me the opportunity to be creative, nurture my relationships and help people with important life decisions,” Chessick says. A resident of Arlington Heights for 24 years, she serves first-time buyers, second-home seekers, upsizers, downsizers and everyone in between in the northwest suburbs. Knowledgeable, professional, driven, discreet and passionate about real estate, she was named a 2019 Top 25 Individual Producer by Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty and earned the company’s Huzenis Award in 2016.
Breaking records from the previous year has continually offered a big sense of accomplishment, but the personal victories really stick with Chessick. “One highlight was successfully moving a client, who had been in their home for 49 years, through asbestos abatement and mold issues to close on her dream home,” she says. “That was very complex, and I did it while helping another couple with a brand-new baby close on a house that they were not able to see in person until after closing per their doctor’s orders; the entire process was done virtually.”
Active in the community, Chessick is vice president of the District 214 Education Foundation board and the founder and president of the Terramere Homeowners Association. Her favorite pastime is being with family and friends.
