Joshua Lybolt
President
Prime Real Estate and LifStyl Real Estate
Joshua Lybolt is all about the betterment of the agents he and his wife’s two brokerages – Prime Real Estate and LifStyl Real Estate – employ, as well as the real estate industry as a whole. “My ultimate purpose is to improve the quality of life for those around me, and to inspire a better world,” he says. Lybolt’s innovations, which include the development of several technology-based products and systems, as well as two university-level real estate courses he designed as a professor of finance at Purdue University Calumet, reflect a genuine concern for the industry’s future and have gained him a number of accolades, including: Indiana’s Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders; Purdue University Calumet’s Alumni Leader’s Award; and recognition in BusINess Magazine and Times Media Co.’s “20 Under 40.”
As Lybolt tells it, his career started in the cafeteria at school when he was young, where he would sell other students candy he had used his lunch money to purchase. “I learned pricing, marketing, demand and supply and customer service,” he says, explaining how he later transitioned from selling candy to bicycles to motorcycles and automobiles and Waverunners to stocks to flipping homes and eventually to commercial and subdivision development. Now, after 16 years in the industry, he owns multiple real estate brands.
“Our purpose is to challenge the dated standards of real estate,” Lybolt says, referencing his mantra: “We change. We innovate. We evolve. We improve.” In the 11 years since the former professor co-founded Prime Real Estate, the brokerage has grown to house hundreds of real estate agents, spanning four states, and continues to grow by 100 percent year over year. Explaining the rapid growth is a matter of understanding how Lybolt approaches his business. “We are agent centric,” he says. “Our agents are the underserved, over-promised real estate agents who want more out of life than the average.” Rather than devoting his time to directly improving relations between his agents and their clients, his approach puts attention solely on the agents. Lybolt believes if his team is provided with the tools and support necessary to be the best agents they can be, then they will. “Our business culture stands alone,” he says. “We take great pride in knowing our successes have been the result of care and compassion for others.”
As the head of multiple real estate companies, Lybolt has little time for much else, but when he does find a moment, he prefers spending it with his wife and business partner, Mags, and their two sons, Xavier and Elijah.
