What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a real estate paralegal and then helped open and manage a large Chicago law firm.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Rogers Park in Chicago.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a veterinarian.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Zumba and take my rescue dog, Angel, for a long walk.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Dr. Jane Goodall. She was most famous for her pioneering and groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, over a period of more than 60 years. Her work revolutionized the field of primatology and challenged long-held beliefs about the differences between humans and other animals.
What is Chicago’s best-kept secret?
Hidden art work. There is a beautiful mural in Edgebrook under the Metra tracks. There are also many murals in Chicago that are off the beaten path.
What do you love most about the industry?
I love that Realtors have the ability to make real estate dreams come true for sellers and buyers. We are involved from start to finish in helping people complete their largest investment. The biggest reward is watching the joy and excitement on move-in day.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I am involved in local nonprofit groups helping to improve and make a difference in our community.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Managing emotions in difficult situations — sellers having to move due to a change in life circumstances and kids having to sell their parents’ home.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Stay in touch with your past clients; they can be your best referral source.
What has been your greatest accomplishment?
Raising my two sons that have become successful in their careers.
What’s your favorite meal in Chicago?
Deep-dish pizza; it is splurge that I don’t do often, but it is my favorite Chicago meal.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
The leaning tower, which is actually located in Niles but across the street from Chicago.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I love crystals and plants/flowers, and have many of both. I am also a big supporter of pet adoption.

Stick to a schedule including prospecting, networking and downtime.
