Managing brokers appear to be taking a closer look at growth in 2022. Seventy-nine percent said they would like to see some kind of growth. The percentage of those who want modest or no growth — up to 10% — was almost cut in half, dropping from 41% to 21% year over year. Managing brokers also are more closely considering commission splits as a recruiting tool, with 43% saying it’s the most effective way to attract new talent. That more than doubled from last year’s 18% and a substantial jump from 2020 and 2019, when they were at 7% and 6%, respectively.
