Real Trends 500 recently spotlighted a number of RE/MAX in Northern Illinois, all of which are independently owned and operated.
The Real Trends 500 is one the most prestigious surveys of real estate productivity and is conducted by Real Trends magazine. The annual research report ranks 500 of the largest and most successful residential real estate firms by closed transactions and separately by closed sales volume as determined by applications received.
RE/MAX companies nationwide held 111, or 22.2 percent, of the top 500 firms ranked. It also held 21 of the 25 top firms ranked by sales productivity per associate – the latter being a new category added by Real Trends this year.
RE/MAX Suburban, with offices in Arlington Heights, Glen Ellyn, Libertyville, Mt. Prospect, Schaumburg, and Wheaton, ranked 180th in transactions and 155th in sales volume. The company also ranked 22nd among RE/MAX companies nationwide. RE/MAX 10, Unlimited Northwest, Signature, City, Professionals South, Professionals Select, Excels, and Showcase were the Northern Illinois RE/MAX companies ranked by Real Trends 500.
A number of RE/MAX firms in the area were also recognized in Real Trends “Up and Comers” section. “Up and Comers” are firms who have closed 500 transactions in 2010 but were not ranked in the top 500 by transaction volume.
RE/MAX brokerage firms made up 201 of the 830 companies that were either in the Real Trends 500 or the “Up and Comers.” Agents for RE/MAX have averaged 14.5 closed transactions in 2010, nearly double the average of their closest competitor.
“In what continues to be a very challenging period for residential real estate brokerages, we are proud that once again this year, 16 firms in our network have been recognized by Real Trends for their outstanding productivity,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network, in a statement. “RE/MAX offices and agents have historically been among the most productive in the industry, and as the 2011 Real Trends 500 results demonstrate, that continues to be the case.”
RE/MAX has been the leader in Northern Illinois real estate since 1989. The RE/MAX Illinois network consists of 2,300 sales associates and 110 individually owned and operated RE/MAX offices.
