Licensed since 1996, Debbie Hymen has spent the last 30 years mastering the Chicago market and listening to what her clients actually need. She learned communities the hard way — sitting across kitchen tables, knocking on doors and listening to the people who lived there. She specializes in residential real estate across the North Shore, the northwest suburbs and the city of Chicago. Because she spent 20 years on local school boards, Hymen is a resource for neighborhoods and education. She uses that networking experience to help clients navigate new areas.
Hymen’s office is in Highland Park, but her reach extends well beyond it. Her clients range from first-time buyers and sellers — whom she particularly enjoys working with — to luxury move-up buyers and investors. Her relocation background has taken her across the region and further, building fluency in markets that no algorithm can replicate. Clients describe her as someone who takes her time. She walks clients through every form before a transaction begins, sets expectations early and works on their timeline, not her own.
While she considers herself a patient professional, her repeat clients often describe her as a quick-witted ‘ball of fire’ with high energy. Most of her business comes through referrals and professional relationships. She is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Illinois REALTORS®, the Women’s Council of REALTORS® and the North Shore-Barrington Association of REALTORS®, where she serves on the board of directors and chairs the Grievance Committee. With Illinois REALTORS®, she is a trained mediator and ombudsman and serves on the Professional Standards Committee.
Outside the office, Hymen remains active in education-focused philanthropy. She is a lifelong fan of classic cinema, loves to dance and unwinds with historical fiction and needlepoint.
