A Lake Forest resident for nearly three decades, Elizabeth Jakaitis represents North Shore buyers and sellers with deep market knowledge and an emphasis on luxury properties and new construction. Her diverse background includes technology and interior design, and she applies both skill sets to her real estate business, combining tech-savvy marketing with effective staging for sellers and vision for a property’s possibilities for buyers.
For the daughter of a builder of custom homes, a real estate career seemed like a natural fit, but an especially positive experience with an agent during her own home sale was what made Jakaitis see herself in the same role. With support from valued mentors along the way who instilled in her the best practices for success, she has built a business that has received multiple production awards throughout the years.
Deeply rooted in the Lake Forest community, where her daughters attended District 67 and 115 schools, Jakaitis says going above and beyond for her clients is her top priority. “I run my business like a concierge service” she says. “In addition to finding the right home, I’ve matched nannies, housekeepers and more with families.” When she looks at homes with buyers, she always tries to imagine how her family would live there. “If I can see it for myself, I know it’s a real possibility for my client,” she notes.
Most of all, Jakaitis understands that real estate is emotional and more than a financial decision. She believes listening is the most important skill she can bring to a client relationship. “By listening, you help clients feel seen, validated and supported, especially during tough moments like letting go of a family home,” she says.
When she’s not working, Jakaitis, a podcast enthusiast and lifelong learner, can be found walking through town, experimenting with new recipes, meeting with friends or fitting in a workout.
