Shanna Ax, Associate Broker, Founding Advisor

Engel & Völkers Shoreline

A native of Southwest Michigan, Shanna Ax has real estate in her blood with her mother working at the Kalamazoo Board of Realtors, her grandfather owned his own realty company and her aunt after many years still works as a real estate agent in Hilton Head Island. Married at age 20, she and her husband began buying income properties, and in 10 years they successfully renovated and rented four homes (seven units) while attending college and raising a family. After earning a degree in public relations and advertising, Ax began actively working in real estate.

As a founding advisor and associate broker with Engel & Völkers Shoreline, Ax specializes in commercial, waterfront residential properties and second homes throughout Allegan, Douglas, Saugatuck, South Haven and Glenn-Fennville. “With over 470+ properties sold in the Allegan and Van Buren counties, I am a residential property expert,” she explains. “My specialty is inland lakes and I love sharing this incredible lifestyle with my clients.” She also is integral in coaching and training the advisors in the Douglas Shop.

Known for her professionalism, knowledge and compassion, Engel & Völkers granted Ax the Culture of Leadership Pillar Award in 2022. She received the Silver Life Membership from the Real Estate Information System of Southwestern Michigan in 2021, and the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors presented her with the Silver Award in 2015, Gold in 2017 and Platinum in 2018. “I aligned with Engel & Völkers because I wanted to surround myself with like-minded individuals who care about the people they serve and sharpen each other to be better than yesterday.”

In the industry for 21 years, Ax has served as an ambassador for the South Haven Chamber of Commerce for years and supported numerous community organizations throughout Southwest Michigan. “Faith and family are the most important things to me and shapes who I am,” she shares. “I have been lucky enough to raise two sons on an inland lake, with Michigan living as a backdrop. The lake is my sanctuary and I treasure those moments spent with the special people in my life.”
