Though he planned on a career in advertising, something about finance and real estate grabbed Mike Facchini. He entered the business as an intern 22 years ago and never looked back. Today, the mortgage broker leads Team Facchini at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation and is a real-estate investor and developer in his own right.

“I walk the walk as a buyer-seller myself, so I’m relevant and up to date with what buyers are up against,” Facchini shares. His clients benefit from his industry experience in a variety of roles, from investment to property rehab to property management, as well as at the corporate level with Fairway. He specializes in multiunit financing and other more complex financing such as co-ops and renovation loans.

Borrowers who work with Facchini can expect a personable style, a patient demeanor and an education in the lending process. “I put a lot of time into making sure clients not only understand lending options and strategies, but also the transaction, players and what is ahead,” he explains.

Known among his clients for imparting a lot of information in digestible bites, Facchini has been lauded for providing more intel and insight compared to other lenders. “I prepare clients with a 30- to 60-minute consultation where we dissect their scenario, finances, options, strategies and best path ahead,” he says.

The industry veteran credits much of his success to his project-management ability—seeing the big picture and breaking it down into manageable steps and processes. “I have built new construction, done major rehabs and invested in property all over the country, so I bring varied experience and know how to dissect and assemble,” Facchini says.

A member of Fairway’s Chairman’s Club, Facchini has also been recognized in the Top 1% by Scotsman Guide. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to Italy, snowboarding, playing guitar and pickleball, and making pizza. He is also active in Fairway’s American Warrior Initiative in support of  U.S. military veterans.
